The Columbus Crew are back in action tonight with a home match against D.C. United. The Crew are unbeaten this season with a 2-0-1 record through three weeks of action. D.C. United are winless on the season, coming into this match with a 0-1-2 record coming off of a draw with Houston.

D.C. United are led by Darren Mattocks who has scored 2 of their 4 goals this season. He also leads the team with 10 shots. Paul Arriola, Yamil Asad, and Frédéric Brillant all have one assist on the season. David Ousted is the starting goalkeeper, he has made 5 saves on the season. Former Crew goalkeeper Steve Clark is the backup keeper for D.C. United.

Gyasi Zardes is the newcomer and leading scorer for the Crew. He has 3 goals on the season, his first, after coming over from L.A. Galaxy. Federico Higuain is the only other scorer for the Crew, he has two goals through three games. Pedro Santos, Milton Valenzuela, and Artur all have an assist for the Crew. Superstar goalkeeper Zack Steffen has made 8 saves on the season and has two shutouts through three games.

Steffen and midfielder Wil Trapp won’t be playing for the Crew today as they’ve been called up for International Duty. D.C. United will be without five of their players who were called up for international duty.

This is the first of two match-ups between these squads this year, the second will be played three weeks from today on Saturday, April 14th in Annapolis, Maryland. These teams met twice last season, both matches resulting in a 2-0 victory for the Crew.

The Crew is looking to remain unbeaten and continue their surprising opening to the 2018 campaign. D.C. United is looking for their first victory of the season. Without so many of the normal players on both sides, who knows what to expect in this match.

The match will kick off at 6:00pm and you can watch it on the CW Columbus, Spectrum Sports, or BCSN2.
